Moscow : Russia’s natural gas producer Itera launched on Tuesday a gas condensate deposit in the Irkutsk Region in east Siberia, the company said.
The Bratsk deposit will supply gas for local pulp and paper plants, municipal automobile transport and the utilities sector of the city of Bratsk and some populated areas in the Irkutsk Region, Russia’s largest independent gas producer said in a statement.
The Bratsk deposit has reserves of 10.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 1.4 million metric tons of condensed gas. The deposit’s designed capacity is to be 430 million cubic meters of gas annually.
Itera Board Chairman Vladimir Makeyev said the Bratsk deposit was a pilot project in the program to develop the gas industry in eastern Siberia.
