New Delhi : Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde Tuesday said party MPs from Seemandhra region of Andhra Pradesh, who had given notice of a no-confidence motion against the government in the Lok Sabha, could face disciplinary action.
“If there is such type of indiscipline, the party will take care,” Shinde told reporters here in response to questions on the no-confidence motion.
Members of the Telugu Desam Party and the Congress separately gave notice Monday for no-confidence motions, according to parliament sources.
Four members of the TDP and six from the Congress submitted to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar their respective notices for the motion. The MPs are opposed to the union government’s move to carve out a separate Telangana state from Andhra Pradesh.
