New Delhi: A 25-year-old married woman working in a multinational company in Noida was stabbed to death by two people here while she was going to meet a relative, police said Saturday.
The accused have been identified but are absconding.
“Simranjeet Kaur was going to meet a relative when the men attacked her with a meat cleaver near Karol Bagh Metro Station last (Friday) night,” said a police officer adding that others might also be involved.
After stabbing her, the attackers fled from the scene leaving behind the weapon, the officer added.
Kaur was taken to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.
She received two deep wounds on chest and shoulder.
Police said the attackers have been identified on the basis of a CCTV footage installed near the Metro station.
“Three men found walking on the street in CCTV footage. Among them two have been identified,” the officer said.
The woman got married a year back and lived in Noida. She was also reportedly pregnant.
“The motive behind the murder was not yet clear but we are investigating the case from all possible angles,” Joint Commissioner of police Sandeep Goel told IANS.
