Gaza : Israeli gunship helicopters raided Palestinian targets in Gaza Strip early on Sunday killing one Palestinian guerrilla and wounding several others, security and medical sources said.
The sources said the multi-winged aircraft rocketed several locations in the east and north of the strip, including the region of Al-Shujaieh east of Gaza city, killing one Palestinian fighter and wounding a number of other gunmen. Several rockets crashed into advance positions manned by the guerrillas who were on a night watch mission.
The sources identified the armed Palestinian who was killed in the strike as Mahmoud Al-Rabiee, 35. He was a member of the Popular Resistance Committees, an umbrella organization for several Palestinian factions.
Earlier, the Israeli aircraft struck targets in the town of Jibalya in the north of the strip. Witnesses said the missiles targeted a rocket launching pad.
Late on Saturday, Mohammad Abu Oudah, a 24-year-old Palestinian activist, was killed and several others were wounded in an Israeli missile attack that targeted a guerrilla position in the town of Beit Hanoun.
