Bhubaneswar : Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Gokul Chandra Pati was Wednesday appointed Odisha’s new chief secretary, an official said.
Pati, a 1978 batch IAS officer, who was on central deputation and serving as the union secretary for defence production in the defence ministry, succeeds Jugal Kishore Mohapatra who went on central deputation.
Pati, 58, is scheduled to take charge Aug 1.
The government has also effected a reshuffle at the senior level of the state bureaucracy, the official of the general administration department told IANS.
Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) U.N. Behera has been given additional charge of the home department. Principal Secretary (Home) V.K. Saxena has been appointed special resident commissioner, he said.
