Government committed to welfare of people: Raje

Udaipur : Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Friday said the state government is committed to the welfare of the people from every section of society.

“Various steps have been taken to improve infrastructure in the state. We plan to develop 20,000 km of roads in the next five years. We are also working on a plan to boost electricity output so that the state becomes self-reliant in the power sector,” Raje said after hoisting the national flag on Independence Day.

“We are also working on a plan to produce 25,000 mw of solar power in the state. We have launched skills development projects aimed at creating employment opportunities for the young people,” she said at the state level function at the Maharana Bhupal Stadium. The 68th Independence Day was celebrated with traditional gaiety and fervour throughout Rajasthan.

The chief minister said her government had set a target of providing employment to about 15 lakh youth in the next five years.

“We are also working on a scheme to increase investment in the state. We plan to give priority to the rural tourism,” Raje said.

The chief minister also honoured police and government officers on this occasion.
