Kishanganj (Bihar): A delegation of candidates trained by District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) met the District Magistrate (DM) of Kishanganj Animesh Kumar Prashar drawing his attention to the trained students who have not been recruited as yet under the process.
With the hope of being considered for their candidature in the teacher’s appointment process of the Bihar government, the delegation – comprising members of Unemployed Trained Teachers’ Union namely, Jahangir Alam, Md Maroof Alam, Mritunjay Kumar, Wasim Reza, Bittu Das and Shamsad – submitted the memorandum that highlighted the concerns of trained students, who are not considered for recruitment process even after completing two years training course offered by DIET.
Citing the rules and regulations of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Jahangir Alam said the teacher appointment process is not fulfilling the guidelines of the council.
“According to NCTE, only trained candidates can apply for TET. We have paid high fees for the DIET course in order to do the training course for the sake of a better future in education. However, we are upset with the recruitment process as our valuable time and money, it seems has gone waste,” he said, as per a release.
As per the memorandum, the two year training course was started by DIET in 2011, and there are already two batches of passing out students from 2011-13 and 2012-14 sessions. “Ironically the Bihar government had not conducted any TET test before 2013,” hence as per the delegation, “they deserve the appointment along with TET pass out students. On the contrary, many untrained candidates who have only qualified TET are considered for candidature in the present teacher recruitment process.”
After meeting the DM, the members of the Unemployed Trained Teachers’ Union, Kishanganj unit are next planning to meet the education minister and others from Bihar government with their plea, the release added.
