At the meeting between Dini and Arab League (AL) Secretary General Amr Moussa, they discussed recent developments in Lebanon and efforts made by Moussa to settle the ongoing Lebanese presidential crisis, said MENA.

Dini said the three-point initiative adopted earlier this month by the pan-Arab bloc is the only viable plan to resolve the Lebanese crisis.

For his part, Moussa urged all parties concerned to maintain the stability of Lebanon, AL chief’s spokesman Abdel-Aleem al-Abyad was quoted as saying following the meeting.

On Saturday, Moussa left Beirut after four-day-long marathon talks with Lebanon’s rival factions, failing to install the Arab initiative to help end the presidential crisis in the country.

The three-point plan aimed at immediately electing Lebanese Army Commander Gen. Michel Suleiman as Lebanese president and proceeding to forming a national unity government and drafting a new electoral law.

A parliament session to elect Lebanon’s president, originally scheduled on Saturday, was delayed to Jan. 21. It is the 12th postponement since Sept. 25, 2007.
