Celebrations in Nitish Kumar’s camp after Manjhi quits

Patna : Janata Dal-United (JD-U) workers in senior leader and former chief minister Nitish Kumar’s camp began celebrating while the houses of the supporters of his successor Jitan Ram Manjhi wore a deserted look after Manjhi quit as Bihar CM Friday.

Manjhi was to face a floor test later in the day and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had declared support to him.

JD-U leaders close to Nitish Kumar distributed sweets and took to the streets to express their happiness.

“There is a festival like atmosphere at the JD-U’s state headquarters here. Party workers and leaders played with colours even though Holi, the annual festival of colours, is in March,” JD-U leader Sanjay Singh said.

Another jubilant leader, Alok Ajay, said that truth has prevailed over lies.

Hundreds of party workers and leaders gathered at the party office as well as at the residence of Nitish Kumar.

On the other hand, silence prevailed in the Manjhi camp.

“Deserted houses of Manjhi camp leaders are telling its own story that they have accepted defeat before the test in the state assembly,” JD-U leader Ramavtar Singh said.

The BJP office here also wore a dull look with little activity after Manjhi resigned.
