Congress takes out protest march in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: The Congress on Wednesday launched a protest march in Ghaziabad over many issues, including what the party called “looting” of farm land by the central government for private industrial houses.

Congress national general secretary Madhusudan Mistri, who is in charge of the party’s affairs in Uttar Pradesh, led the march from the party office to Ambedkar Park where party leaders addressed workers.

Mistri said the Congress was committed not to allow the government to loot farmers’ land for private industrial houses.

He demanded the resignations of Rajsthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for their help to former IPL chief Lalit Modi, and of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over the Vyapam recruitment scam.

The protest march also included about a dozen bullock-carts on which the Congress depicted the failures of the union government through paintings.

The paintings depicted inflation, the land acquisition bill, and the government’s promise to bring back black money from abroad, among others.
