Samajwadi Party legislator booked

Ghaziabad : Ruling Samajwadi party legislator Gulam Mohammad and his five accomplices have been booked by the Ghaziabad police in Uttar Pradesh in a criminal case.

In a First Information Report (FIR) lodged by Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Kunwar Ayub Ali, it was claimed that Gulam Mohammad, his son Sarique, Afzal and three others barged into the emergency ward of Yashoda Hospital in Kaushambi on July 24, ransacked it and beat up Ayub Ali’s son Azhar, son-in-law of Gulam Mohammad, and forcibly took away the latter’s daughter to Meerut.

The Indirapuram police in Ghaziabad district booked the legislator from Siwal Khas in Meerut and his accomplices on July 30 on the charge of hatching a conspiracy with criminal intention.

Ayub Ali said the legislaor later lodged a false FIR that his (Gulam Mohammad’s) daughter Fatima’s in-laws tried to kill her by administering poison.

After Ayub Ali moved the local chief judicial magistrate’s court that the Indirapuram police did not register a case on his complaint, the lower court sought a report from police, which said it had registered the case on July 30.

Ayub Ali claimed the legislator took Rs.25 lakh as loan from him for contesting assembly elections but did not return the money.

He said when Azhar asked for money for his business, the accused accused Azhar of demanding Rs.5 crore in dowry and a high-end car.

The complainant claimed the Meerut police registered a case under the influence of the legislator from the ruling Samajwadi Party.

“After the proceedings in the case were stayed by the Allahabad High Court and an FIR was registered at Indirapuram, it has been exposed how the legislator was misusing power,” Ayub Ali said.
