Dubai police claims Adnan Hasan Damudi, 33, allegedly a former SIMI member, to have acted as an online recruiter and propaganda agent for the IS.

Damudi hails from Bhatkal town in Karnataka who moved to Dubai in 2012 for work. He is an accountant by training who was last known to be employed as an assistant delivery coordinator at the World Trade Center in Dubai.

As per reports he is detained since two months and now Indian authority is in a process to deport him to India.

It is been alleged that since the detention, Damudi’s “suspect” online activities have come to a halt, sources added.

The Twitter account allegedly linked to Damudi, with the handle @AdnanDamudi, that would propagate IS ideology has been defunct for over a year, along with his YouTube subscription.

Indian investigation agencies believe he was the same person who attempted to recruit four Hyderabad youths and was facilitating for their travel to Syria. The four youths were neutralised by Telangana Police after detaining them from Malda, West Bengal when their parents notified police about alleged plans of their sons.
