Humaid Rashid bin Dimas, assistant undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, said the labour inspectors headed to the worksite, where they found the “cause of strike was the pay increment” and not any other reason.

He added that the workers draw a monthly salary that is higher than the agreed pay in the construction and contracting sector in the country.

However, the workers agreed to resume work after intervention by the Labour officials.

”Labour ministry representatives will continue talks with workers on Sunday to allow them take option whether to continue with the agreed salary or leave their jobs after getting full dues,”he said.
