New Delhi : A Congress party delegation led by general secretary Digvijay Singh will leave for Nepal Tuesday to hold discussions with the political parties in the Himalayan kingdom – a move to support the democratic process there.
The four-member delegation, which also includes Veerappa Moily, Shakeel Ahamed and Jitin Prasada, will meet the leaders of all political parties in Kathmandu.
“The delegation is visiting Nepal to renew the Congress party’s long-term contacts with the political parties. Our party is committed to promoting the democratic process and the constitutional formation in our neighbouring country,” Digvijay Singh said.
“We will be meeting Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and leaders of all parties including the Maoists. We will also talk to those political parties which are not part of the government.”
The delegation, which will be in Kathmandu Wednesday and Thursday, will also meet Maoist leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal or Prachanda.
