New Delhi : A city court Friday convicted Romesh Sharma, an alleged associate of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, and five others for the murder of fashion designer Kumjum Budhiraja.
Additional Sessions Judge S.P. Garg held Sharma and five others guilty of the murder of the 29-year-old designer. She was fatally shot March 29, 1999 when she went to offer prayers at a temple at Sharma’s south Delhi farmhouse.
The judge acquitted one accused, Jaspreet, while convicting the others under sections 302 (murder) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
The quantum of punishment would be announced on Monday.
