India bags three silver, one bronze in Asian Clay shooting

Jaipur : Hosts India pocketed three silver medals and one bronze in the trap event of the Asian Clay Shooting Championship at the Jagatpura Shooting Range here Saturday.

Ace shooter Mansher Singh, with a score of 138, opened the hosts’ account Saturday, clinching the bronze medal in the individual men’s category of the trap event.

The gold and silver in this category went to Kuwait with Abdul Rahman Alfaihan bagging the gold with a total score of 144, while Naser Megled pocketed the silver with 141.

In the individual women’s category of the trap event, local favourite Shagun Chowdhary grabbed the silver medal.

The gold in this category went to Lin Yi Chun of Chinese Taipei, while Yelena Struchyeva of Kazakstan bagged the bronze medal.

India also pocketed the silver medals in both the men’s as well as women’s team championship of the trap event.

In the men’s section of the team event, Kuwait won the gold and Chinese Taipei bagged the bronze, while Kazakhastan clinched gold and Qatar had to satisfy with a silver medal in the women’s section.
