Johannesburg : Jordan’s King Abdullah II has been touring South Africa on a Harley Davidson motorcycle for the past week, the Sunday Times of Johannesburg reports.
The king, whose love of fast cars and motorcycles as well as other adventure sports is wellknown, began his trip in the company of friends and security officials in the southern city of Port Elizabeth.
From there, the route led westwards over the winding curves of the Outeniqua Mountains in the direction of Cape Town.
The report said the king enjoyed local delights, such as rooibos tea, and was generous when tipping local staff.
There was a stopover in Gaansbaai (Goose Bay), where Abdullah descended in a cage to view Great White sharks at close hand.
The trip was nearing its end, the newspaper reported, as the king had a more conventional engagement Friday, when he speaks on the Middle East at Princeton University in the United States.
