Sundaram has applied for an entry into the Guinness Book of World Records.

Thirty people worked for 93 days to create the 16.5 feet long and 2.75 feet wide handcrafted anklet.

“To my knowledge, nobody has done this before. Our product is aimed at creating a worldwide awareness of Indian jewellers’ craftsmanship. For instance, this ornament has 400,000 joints – something which was never attempted before,” Sundaram said.

Erode, situated 400 km southwest of state capital Chennai, is also known for its high quality hand- and machine-woven textiles.
