Sydney : With the Australian tour to Pakistan in doubt, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is ready to play Ricky Ponting’s team on neutral venue, media here reported.
The PCB has proposed a shorter Test and one-day international tour from the end of this month. But the latest advice from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is that little has changed since the Feb 18 election and it is not safe to tour the country, according to a report in The Sydney Morning Herald.
Cricket Australia (CA) and Australian Cricketers Association (ACA) officials were advised by DFAT that the security situation prevailing in Pakistan was not conducive for going ahead with the tour.
