Kolkata : Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly Thursday said he was going to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore for a fitness test for selection in the Test squad against South Africa.
Asked for his reaction to being called to the NCA for a fitness test, Ganguly said: “There are no issues in it. Everyone who was not there in the ODI series against Australia was called for the fitness test. I will be leaving for NCA Friday.”
Ganguly said his return to the One-Day International (ODI) side was the national selector’s prerogative. “What I can do is to remain fit and score runs,” he said.
“It’s a fantastic win. The team has done a fabulous job,” he said referring to the success of Dhoni’s team.
On Under-19 star from the state Srivats Goswami, Ganguly said “Leave the boy alone and let him play his game. He has still time in his hands. I haven’t seen much of his game to comment on him.”
He said he has no choices for the second round of auction for the Indian Premier League Kolkata team. “The entire thing is managed by the Red Chillies Entertainment,” he said.
