Islamabad : The Pakistani government and the political forces are finalizing details for summon the new National Assembly the current week to shape the new Executive.
Interim Justice and Law Minister Ley Afzal Haider said everything was ready from the constitutional point of view, and sent the table of contents to the office of the interim prime minister, for him to present it to President Pervez Musharraf.
The Executive said that “as soon as it receives the contents, it would order to summon the national and provisional assemblies, without further delay.”
It also exhorted the political forces that compose the future governments, either national or local, to end politicking and focus on leading the country through progress and prosperity.
A stable government and peace are currently essential in Pakistan, said Musharraf in his last speech in public.
Outgoing Parliament President Ameer Hussain will administer the oath to the elected members in the first parliamentary session, and they will meet again to elect the new president two days later, Haider said.
The legislators will meet again by the end of the third week of March, to elect and approve the prime minister, once the majority party gives him its consent.
That same day, Musharraf will administer the oath in a ceremony at the Presidential House.
