Peshawar University teachers interact with Indian scholars

New Delhi : Thirty teachers from Peshawar University interacted with Indian scholars and intellectuals for promoting understanding between teaching communities of both the countries.

Arbab Afridi, coordinator of the group said the teachers visited Jamia Millia Islamia, Jawahar Lal University, Mumbai University and Madras University and held sessions with their staff members on different subjects.

They exchanged views on how to raise standard of education in South Asia and establishment of close coordination between them for the benefit of students of both the countries.

They visited historical places including Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Red Fort and Tomb of Humayyun in New Delhi.

The coordinator said the visit has been conducted on self-help basis under the aegis of Peshawar University Teachers Association.

An international seminar on education will be held in July in Pakistan where representatives of Indian universities will also be invited for participation.

The group left for Pakistan on Wednesday.
