Guangzhou (China) : At least seven people were killed and 36 injured in an explosion in southern Chinese province of Guangdong Thursday, officials said.
The blast occurred around 3:40 p.m. when workers were transferring goods from a parked truck to another in Hongkangdongzhu, the capital city of the province, officials and witnesses said.
All the injured, two of whom were serious, were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The explosion also caused a fire that was extinguished after more than two hours.
The cause of the blast was not yet known and investigation was underway.
