Senegal is hosting the 57-member OIC meeting that will discuss, among other issues, world rejection of Islam caused by the media drive launched by the US and allies.

They will discuss a report and adopt measures to fight disfavor after the 9/11 attacks in the US and a US-led crusade, said OIC General Secretary, Turkish Ekmeleddin Insanoglu.

The Summit will try to effect the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development.

The OIC promotes solidarity among its members and represents nearly 1.3 million Muslims. It was set up September 1969 at a meeting of 24 heads of state of Islamic countries following the burning of the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
