Patna : The chairman of Bihar’s Industrial Cooperative Federation Ltd, Shri Narain Singh Monday said that he has received extortion demands on his cell phone from an unidentified gangster demanding Rs.500,000.
“I received the extortion demand through an SMS. It warned me of dire consequences if I did not pay the amount,” said Singh, who is confined to a wheelchair.
Singh said the SMS directed him to send the extortion money to Siwan district.
Singh is credited with the revival of the federation, which was declared a ‘sick’ corporation a few years ago.
The federation produces and markets edible and agriculture items in Bihar and neighbouring states.
