New Delhi : Weather in the northern states Tuesday continued to advance to the inevitable and gruelling summer, usually beginning April. In contrast, cities in southern India continued to be lashed by heavy rains for yet another day.
Chennai, which hosts the India-South Africa Test match Wednesday in the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, recorded 4.8 millimetres of rainfall. Another major southern city, Bangalore, also had rains, but it was less than even a millimetre.
