“There are convergences among the three countries in the understanding of political and economic aspects of the current global situation. There are similarity of views on the importance of multilateralism and emergence of a multi-polar world order,” said N. Ravi, secretary (east) in the ministry of external affairs.

He was speaking at the inaugural of a two-day seminar on “Evolution of geo-political strategic trends”, attended by experts from the three countries.

He added the “shared views” of the three nations “on assessing and facing contemporary challenges, through joint efforts of the world community, are increasingly relevant in the fast changing international political landscape”.

Ravi said the fight against terrorism, energy security and sustainable development, disarmament and dialogue among civilizations were some of the prominent issues challenging the international community.

The seminar takes place in the run-up to the fourth meeting of the foreign ministers of the three countries in Russia in May.
