Patient shoots bogus dentist in pain revenge attack in Italy

Rome : Police arrested a 50-year-old-man in Rome after he shot a bogus dentist, who left him in severe pain in an apparent revenge attack, local media said.

Police arrived at the dental surgery to find the fake dentist with gunshot wounds to his legs. His patient, who was charged with attempted murder, told police he returned to the surgery with the gun after his pain became unbearable.

The imposter later admitted causing severe pain to his patient and damaging his teeth during the treatment.

He also admitted that he had no qualifications and was merely a technician, who decided to start his own practice.

The fake dentist, who recently underwent surgery at one of Rome’s hospitals, will stand trial accused of malpractice. Police also charged the impostor’s ex-wife, nephew and brother, who assisted him set up his dental practice.
