First Electronic Village in Middle East and the Arab World Activated

Jeddah : The Saudi Council of Engineers activated the Program of Electronic Village, the First of its kind in the Middle East and the Arab World.

Eng. Salih Abdulrahman Al-Amr, Secretary General of the Council said that the village relies on the making of advanced electronic computer network and programs for the classification of engineering works within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The new system facilitates complex procedures; engineers now are able to complete their work through the website. The new system will receive applications from new graduates and guide them on the proper ways of searching for employment or be able to obtain temporary jobs in the engineering offices and subject them to certain periods of training for adequate expertise.

Al-Amr, who in Jeddah to take part in the upcoming 4th conference of GCC on Value Engineering said the Conference chose the title ” effectiveness of value engineering in the economic prosperity of the Arab Gulf ” aims to define all concerned of development from engineers and employers to the importance of applying the concepts of value engineering in order to enhance and sustain economic prosperity.

He pointed out that the conference will discuss raising the efficiency of the use of economic resources and how to apply value engineering in the existing regulations and procedures. “It will discuss the role of authorities and professional organizations including education and training, vocational rehabilitation and indigenization problems of value engineering in the region in addition to providing experience and applications in development and real estate projects.”
