King Abdullah, Wade review success of OIC Summit

Riyadh : Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz received Senegalese President Abdullah Wade and his accompanying delegation at his ranch in Janadriyah near Riyadh yesterday. During the meeting, the king welcomed the Senegalese President, wishing him and the accompanying delegation a pleasant stay. The Senegalese president expressed his thanks and appreciation to King Abdullah for the good reception and generous hospitality accorded to them. They discussed major events and developments at the Islamic and international arenas.

King Abdullah and Wade, who chairs the 57-member Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), reviewed the outcome of the 11th Islamic Summit held in Senegal on March 13 and 14. The king lauded the success of the summit expressing hope the positive results will help boost Islamic unity. On his part, Wade addressed the urgent issues that needed the joint Islamic work and stressed that the wisdom and leadership of the king will always be the basis for any joint Islamic work.

The talks between the two sides also covered the prospects for cooperation between the two countries and ways of boosting bilateral relations in all fields. The talks were attended by Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh region, Prince Miqren bin Abdul Aziz, Chief of General Intelligence, and a number ministers and senior officials. Later, King Abdullah held a luncheon in honor of the Senegalese President and the accompanying delegation.

Abdullah Wade and the accompanying delegation left Madinah today after visiting the Prophet’s Mosque. He was seen off at Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz International Airport by a number of senior officials.
