Eriksson believes his future lies at Manchester City

By DPA,

London : Sven-Goran Eriksson insisted that he believes his future lies with Manchester City, despite club owner Thaksin Shinawatra’s admission this week that he has been disappointed by City’s slump in the second half of the season.

The comment Thursday added to speculation that the former England manager could be replaced in the summer.

“These kinds of stories do not annoy me,” Eriksson told the Manchester Evening News. “When you live in football you also live with rumours.”

“I have a contract for two more seasons and that is it. I am here to complete what I started,” he said.

City lie eighth in the Premiership and should achieve their stated objective of finishing in the top half of the table.

“I can understand people not being happy with the second half of the season,” he said.

“I have not been happy with it either but after winning at Sunderland I hope we are back now and everything should be on track.”
