New Delhi : The government will introduce auctioning of coal mining blocks for captive use through competitive bidding under a new law.
The cabinet Thursday gave its approval for introducing the Mines and Minerals (Development & Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2008, in parliament, that will facilitate auctioning as the selection process of allocation.
This will make allocation of coal blocks not only objective but also transparent, said an official statement.
