WIEF sessions presented solutions to Muslim economic development problems – Al-Hajji

Kuwait : Deputy Prime Minister and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Faisal Al-Hajji said Thursday that all efforts were exerted to allow guests to discuss topics and present solutions in the interest of the Muslim countries and people in an aim to achieve global stability.

Speaking at the press conference following the closing session of the Fourth World Islamic Economic Forum, Al-Hajji, who is Chairman of the higher Organizing Committe, noted the food shortage crisis that the Muslim world was suffering from and the negative impacts this would have on the stability of communities and their future security.

Al-Hajji noted the initiative announced by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for the establishment of a decent living fund for Muslim countries, saying that this would provide basic foodstuff for those in need and support agricultural efforts.

Within this framework, he said Kuwait called on all countries, organizations, and regional and international developmental funds to support this initiative.

He also noted His Highness the Amir’s support for the proposal of Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization to counter the hike in food prices, wishing these efforts success.
