Kuala Lumpur : Myanmar’s military rulers say Cyclone Nargis killed more than 22,500 people, with a further 41,000 still missing. More deaths were caused by a massive storm surge than by the cyclone itself, according to national media.
The figures confirm this weekend’s catastrophe as the worst cyclone to hit Asia since 1991.
