The Iranian officials and delegation from International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) talked for the last 3 days behind closed doors in the venue of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization headquarter in Tehran.

Content of the talks have not been disclosed yet, but it was said the consequences of the three rounds of technical talks between IAEA and IAEO will be presented in the report of IAEA’s Chief to the Governing Council at the end of current month.

An informed official told IRNA that Herman Nackaerts, director for regional department of Safeguards Operation, headed the IAEA delegation, while Ali Asghar Soltanieh, Iran’s permanent envoy to IAEA, chaired Iranian team in this round of negotiations.

The official, who asked not to be named, said the negotiation was held in expert level and some experts from Foreign Ministry also attended the talks.

The technical delegations of both sides had another talks around two weeks ago on April 28-30 here in which Olli Heinonen, deputy chief of IAEA was present in the first day of talks.

After the release of a report by IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei on Feb 22, the first round of technical talks between Iranian officials and Olli Heinonen was held.

Tehran addressed all questions raised by the IAEA in order to remove the West’s concern on its peaceful nuclear program based on a work plan signed on Aug 21, 2007.

Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini called US officials’ judgment on Iran’s proposed package ‘hasty’ and asked the US government to consider different aspects of the package which has been prepared in consultation with different countries.

Hosseini said, “Iran has offered its proposed package to China, Russia, Switzerland, European Union politico-security official, the UN secretary general and president of the UN Security Council simultaneously with the USA.”

He added, unlike other countries, the US officials from the beginning pre-judged the package hastily and tried to affect others with their unilateral judgment.

According to Foreign Ministry Media Department on Wednesday, Hosseini continued, “The US government had better pay attention to realities instead of making pre-judgments and creating an unwise political atmosphere.”

He said US should give the opportunity to others to choose a justified and fair approach towards Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.

The spokesman added, “The US unilateral policy has had no results for them so far and changing the one-way approach of the US government and observing Iranians’ legitimate rights in using peaceful nuclear energy is the wisest way in considering Iran’s proposed package.”

Ignoring other nations’ lawful rights and disregarding the international regulations and law has been the unacceptable approach of the US government in the past several decades, so they will face world public opinions until they respect international laws and regulations, he added.

Concerning Iran’s stance on proposed package of Group 5 1, the foreign ministry spokesman said, “We have not received any package from the group yet.”

He added, “We will announce our reaction to the package after we receive and consider it.”
Hosseini concluded, “Iranians’ inalienable rights on using peaceful nuclear energy such as enrichment and producing fuel is not negotiable.”

In JERUSALEM, Chairman of Russian Federation Council said using nuclear energy for peaceful goals is Iran’s inalienable right.

According to the Ria-Novosti ( A Russian News Agency), Sergei Mironev, who is in Jerusalem to attend 60th anniversary of establishment of the Zionist regime in occupied Palestine, told reporters on Wednesday, “Iran as an independent country has the right to use nuclear energy for peaceful goals under control of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).”

Underscoring Russian stance on the issue, Mironev said production of atomic weapons by Iran is impossible and continued, “We believe Iran’s access to the weapon is very dangerous.”

Concerning Russia-Iran nuclear cooperation, he said the cooperation has no danger regarding expansion of nuclear weapons and is continuing under full observation of international standards.

He added, “Russia is obliged to its commitments on Iran until Iran is committed to the IAEA control standards and there would be no danger in this concern.”
