In a press conference in Bonn, the BICC headquarters, the institution’s Chair Peter J. Croll said the United States outlaid almost half of the world military expenses two years ago.

Croll considered that the international negotiations for nuclear disarmament, far from making progress, are rather at a standstill, and reactivation of the arms race in this sphere can be seen in some cases.

We are experiencing a revival of the Cold war policy, but without war, a sort of Cold Peace, UN ex inspector to Iraq Hans Blix stated, quoted by the BICC chair.

He also recalled that the United States headed the list of countries with more outlays in armaments in 2006, with $258 billions, over Great Britain with $59 billion, and France with $53billion.

He also denounced that the countries of the organization for Economic Cooperation and Development contributed $104 billion for aid, while they allocated $891 billion for armaments.
