Lucknow : Two policemen and two home guards were suspended Tuesday for assaulting and detaining two brothers who tried to stop some youths from eve-teasing their sister, said the police.
Jai Prakash and Ravi Prakash, who are brothers, had stopped some inebriated youths from eve-teasing their sister outside the Royal Cafe restaurant here Monday night.
They alleged that instead of taking action against the youths, the police alongwith home guards detained and assaulted them inside the police station.
Taking a serious note of the incident that was aired on news channels, Lucknow’s senior superintendent of police ordered their suspension and initiated an inquiry into the incident.
