According to Al Iraqiya TV channel Abdallah landed at this airport early in the morning and began a program that includes meetings with President Jalal Talabani and Prime Minister Nuri al Maliki.

Iraqi media noted that the arrival of the United Arab Emirates’ official responded to insistent calls from Washington and Baghdad to reestablish and normalize diplomatic ties with Iraqin the region.

The insecurity of this Arab country, prompted by the US war, gave way to the withdrawal of the staff of regional groups and fear of sending top-ranking representatives to Baghdad.

Egyptian ambassador Ehad al Sharif was kidnapped and assassinated in July 2005 and at the same the death was reported of officials from Algeria and Morocco.
