Gaza : Military factions of Islamic Jihad and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) claimed responsibility Saturday for launching mortar shells at the Israeli Nahal Oz
military base, east of Gaza City.
A joint statement by Islamic Jihad’s Quds Brigades and DFLP’s National Resistance Committee said they launched three 80 mm mortar shells at Nahal Oz and that they hit target.
The Palestinian activists that launched the attack returned to base safely, it added.
Meanwhile, Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and Saladdin Brigades of the Popular Resistance Committee claimed responsibility for attacking the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon with two missiles.
In a joint statement, they said they fired two advanced missiles at the city and that both hit their mark, while the activists that staged the attack escaped unharmed.
