Islamabad : The Pakistani army termed Wednesday unfounded and cowardly the NATO troops attack against a border military base with Afghanistan that killed at least 13 soldiers.
That incident took place at daybreak when the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) airplanes fired missiles against a Pakistani control post in the northern tribal district of Mohmand.
Army spokesman Brigadier General Athar Abbas told press in Islamabad that a Pakistani troops’ military base has been destroyed in an air raid by coalition forces in Afghanistan, killing 13 soldiers, included an official.
Abbas slammed that attack and termed it totally unfounded and cowardly against the border security bodies and deplored the murder of those soldiers.
Aaj News radio station informed that those soldiers died in an ISAF air raid, in which Afghan army units also participated and some 40 Pakistani soldiers have been reported as missing.
The Pakistani government previously protested to the United States for the launching of several NATO force missiles in its territory.
At least 13 people were killed on May 14 in a rocket attack in Pakistan’s Bajaur tribal region.
