New Delhi : President Pratibha Patil will leave Thursday for a five-day tour to Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh.
In Mumbai Thursday, Patil will inaugurate an international conference on “Responsibility to the Future: Business, Peace, Sustainability”.
During her trip to Madhya Pradesh, the first since she assumed office in July last year, the president will visit Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal and Gwalior.
On Friday, the president will dedicate the Choithran Netralaya, a leading eye hospital in Indore, to the nation. She will also inaugurate the Media Bhavan of the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya University there.
On Saturday, Patil will visit Ujjain where she will address a conference on central India Hindi literature.
In Bhopal Sunday, she will inaugurate the administrative and academic block of Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University and the Centre for Advanced Research and Development.
Patil is expected to attend the inaugural function of the Usha Kiran Scheme for Protection of Victims of Domestic Violence, an ambitious programme launched by the state government.
She will wind up her five-day tour Monday after visiting Gwalior to attend golden jubilee celebrations of the Madhav Institute of Technology and Sciences.
