Tokyo : Japan will host a two-day Japan-Iraq business forum in Jordan from July 2 to promote Iraqi reconstruction efforts by further enhancing bilateral economic ties, the Foreign Ministry announced here.
The upcoming forum in Amman, the first meeting to be held under Iraq’s new administration on its economy, is expected to bring together over 200 participants from the public and private sectors of both countries, the ministry said in a statement Wednesday.
The Japanese delegation will be led by Vice-Foreign Minister Osamu Uno, while Fawzi Hariri, Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, will lead high-level officials from the Iraqi central government and the Kurdistan regional government.
In the forum, presentations on business and investment environment in Iraq will be made, and business matching session between Japanese and Iraqi companies will follow.
