The issue will be taken up in the next cabinet meeting July 7.

The Rs.65 billion ($1.5 billion) Thopan-Powari and Jangi-Thopan hydro power projects in Kinnaur district were allotted to Brakel in 2006 by the then Congress government.

Later, Reliance Energy petitioned in the Himachal Pradesh High Court that the state government had granted favours to Brakel in allotting the projects.

During the hearing June 3, the high court took a serious view regarding the vigilance probe started by the state government against Brakel.

The court directed the chief secretary to file an affidavit by July 4 to clarify the government stand.

The sources said the government would take a decision after the July 4 court hearing.
