Paris : France announced here Monday that it is “reflecting” with its European partners on what decision to take regarding the organization of People’s Mujahedeen of Iran.
British lawmakers formally removed an Iranian opposition group from the U.K.
‘s list of banned terror groups. Britain’s list also contains organizations such as Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
Spokeswoman of the French Foreign Ministry Pascale Andreani told reporters that her country had taken note of the British Parliaments decision.
She added that France is “currently reflecting with its European partners on the implications of this national decision concerning the presence of the PMOI on the European list of terrorist organizations.” Official sources here had said that France considers this organization as a “sect,” where it is considered terrorist organization in the US and EU.
