Second week of Gaza truce sees 13 violations — Aqsa Brigades

Gaza : The Aqsa Brigades of Islamic Jihad Thursday accused Israel of violating the ongoing truce in Gaza Strip 13 times during the second week since it went into effect.

“The second week of the truce, which the Israeli and Palestinian sides have agreed to observe in Gaza Strip and went into effect 6 a.m. June 19, has witnessed 13 violations,” the Brigades stated.

According to statistics mentioned in the statement, the first day of the second week witnessed 4 incursions, the second and third day 2 incursions each, while no incursions were noted on the fourth day. Two incursions were recorded on the fifth day and three such incursions in the sixth and seventh days of the truce.

The incursions focused on the southern border of Gaza Strip and the adjacent sea area, the statement further mentioned.

Meanwhile in the West Bank, Al-Aqsa Brigades’ statistics recorded several Israeli assaults on citizens of different West Bank cities during the same week of the Gaza truce; the Israeli forces arrested 53 Palestinians and carried out no less than 36 incursions of cities, villages, and towns, with two Palestinians killed during these operations.

Moreover, the statement pointed out that the Brigades “had issued some statistics on the incursions and violations during the first week of the ongoing truce in the Strip; 15 incursions, 46 arrests of citizens in the West Bank, an no less than 27 incursions into cities were recorded.” It further explained that “during the first week of the truce, the Israeli forces assassinated Tariq Abu Ghali, a top Aqsa Brigades commander and a young man identified as Iaad Khanfer in Nablus, in the northern West Bank.
