Lucknow : Civic officials Friday demolished a prominent city crossing renovated and inaugurated during the regime of former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.
The Lohia Chowk crossing was inaugurated by the Samajwadi Party chief around two years ago. Several marble pillars were erected at the Lohia crossing on Vikramaditya Marg, near the party office.
Lucknow Municipal Corporation senior officials were not willing to comment on the demolition. LMC commissioner S.K. Singh did not receive the phone calls made to inquire for the reason behind dismantling the structure.
