Presidential spokesman Ivan Canelas confirmed to Prensa Latina that the US official could not be able to arrive in La Paz because of problems with airline connections.

Shannon had scheduled to arrive in La Paz on Monday to meet Bolivian President Evo Morales and analyze bilateral relations, which are now affected.

In that Meeting, Morales expected to reiterate his criticism because of the US government’s interference in the Bolivian domestic affairs.

Links between Bolivia and the United States are now undergoing a period of tension, after Bolivian accusations on the destabilizing campaign fostered by Washington against the Bolivian government.
