A fast-track court in south-western Barisal region yesterday announced the sentence against the insurgents for the serial blasts that rocked Bangladesh on August 17 2005, news agency Press Trust of India reported Thursday, quoting a source in the Law Ministry.

Last month a Dhaka court had sentenced three JMB cadres to 20-years Rigorous Imprisonment for having bomb making material.

Nearly 200 people were killed in bombings masterminded by JMB between 2000-05. Six JMB leaders including its chief Sheikh Abdur Rahman and second in command Siddikul Islam were hanged in March 2007.
