Islamabad : Pakistan’s Senate Wednesday adopted a unanimous resolution regretting the accusations against Islamabad by Afghan President Hamid Karzai, according to local media.
“The Senate of Pakistan expresses deep regret over recent threatening statements by the Afghan president,” said the resolution.
Karzai alleged that Pakistan’s intelligence agency was involved in the car bomb blast outside the Indian embassy in Kabul last month that killed over 50 people.
The resolution condemned the “cowardly attack” on the Indian embassy in Kabul and rejected “the baseless allegations levelled against Pakistan in that regard”, the News Network International news agency reported.
The resolution also condemned the bomb blast outside the Pakistani consulate in Herat July 31 and urged the Afghan government to take necessary measures to ensure the security of the personnel and premises of Pakistan’s diplomatic and consular missions in Afghanistan.
