New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Tuesday condoled the killing of Cement Corporation of India (CCI) official Kailash Nath Jha by suspected militants in Assam.
“Words are inadequate to convey my deep sense of shock and pain at the untimely demise of Jha. His death in Assam due to kidnapping by the militants has caused an irreparable loss to your family and the CCI,” Manmohan Singh said in a letter to Jha’s wife.
The CCI mines manager, along with 10 people, was kidnapped in Assam Sunday and his body was recovered from deep inside a forest the next day.
The prime minister said, “The government of India shares your grief and stand by you and your family at this difficult time. The government will take all possible measures to extend you the benefits and all other assistance as permitted by law.
“This tragic loss has shocked the nation beyond belief,” he added.
